Project
The „Föderverein Kinderhilfe Burma“ supports approximately 80 children in the town of Yenangyaung (apprx. 110.000 inhabitants) and its vicinity (Central Burma). Our children and young adults are either orphans or half-orphans, who till now, have been living in great poverty and destitution. This is the reason they have not been able to attend school. They were either totally alone and survived on the streets or were taken in by neighbours or relatives.
Through your donations we are able to support these children with food, clothes, medicine and medical treatment. We are also able to give them a roof over their heads and send them to school and also provide them with professional education. School:
In June 2009, the newly renovated school building was opened. Besides attending the official State School, this enables the children to get English lessons, support them in completing their home work and the other subjects taught in the State Schools. The little students always look forward to the afternoon meal which is prepared for them by the women in the neighbourhood.
Under Construction:
Two further buildings are being renovated at the moment. One is planned as a dormitory for the orphans and their guardians, and the second one shall serve as a vocational training centre.
Professional Training:
We plan on training and apprenticeships for the following professions: Sewing, carpentry, well sinking and electricians. A start was made last year. We paid for the training of Ma Nilar Soe (17) as a seamstress and bought her a sewing machine. (300 US$) She is now training other young girls in sewing classes.

Visiting the Project:
The town of Yenangyaung lies approximately 200 km south-west of Mandalay, the 2nd largest city in Myanmar. From Mandalay to Bagan, the ancient capital with its hundreds of old pagodas, travelling conditions by boat, bus or plane are very well organized.
